ceremony and ritual as manifestation tools

Many pagan cultures use rituals and ceremony to manifest their desires. They have full moon rituals, rites of passage, solstice ceremonies and eclipse rituals.. Much like divination tools are helpful for enhancing psychic abilities, they are not necessary to have a direct line with spirit, but definitely helpful. The same goes for rituals and ceremonies.

Everything is energy, energy becomes emotions, emotions become thoughts, thoughts become things. Everything is about the intention that’s behind it.

This recent full wolf moon, which was a supermoon and lunar eclipse had very potent astrological energy behind it. Full moon energy is something comparable to energy being kicked up a notch. Whatever is playing out in your life, it will be magnified and it will be in your face.

Family dynamics, karmic patterns, fears, they will show up and be in your face. Eclipse energy in general is a great energy to shed old layers. I remember the solar eclipse from 2017, it was the beginning of the peeling of an entire old layer that started to happen for me. Lunar eclipses are more subtle, but not less powerful. It’s a great time to set intentions and repeat manifestations while setting the intention using this energy. The thing is, it can look any way you want it to look. No one ceremony or ritual is “the right one”. It’s all about what personally feels right to you.

When I was growing up I was very much into paganism and ancient practices and I would study them and read about them to “get it right”. I dove into Wicca for a while when I was a teenager, but after learning about the Law Of Attraction and manifestation I soon realized that all that was, was a materialization of applying the Law Of Attraction. You just make it visible, tangible, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be exactly like it’s described in the book of shadows, or whatever book you follow. Make your own book, make your own rituals. They can be as simple as pulling a card from an oracle deck you have laying around on a full moon and just closing your eyes and thinking about it. It can be burning sage and just focusing on cleansing whatever needs to be cleansed, it can be burning affirmations written down on paper and using the fire energy to work with the lunar energy to help manifest your desires. It can be nothing at all.. it can be you sitting in meditation on your couch focusing and visualizing.

It’s truly all about intention. And being consistent. You will gain much more out of life if you listen to affirmations daily while walking your dog or doing the dishes, than doing some elaborate ceremony once or twice a year with chanting and burning sage and drumming and an hour long deep trance meditation, and having no other spiritual practice at all for the rest of the year. Of course you can do both, but you get the point. Sometimes less is more.

I did a quick 15 minute meditation guided by Jemese Lachel who is a spiritual mentor & psychic healer. She’s very down to earth and her simple yet impactful meditations are a great example of how you can just do what feels right for you, in meditation and ceremony. We often also draw inspiration from soul-memory. Your soul remembers practices and rituals from past lives that work well with your own personal energy. Some people have a great response to burning palo santo, while others such as myself have a very strong response energetically to burning sage. I know people who have no reaction or feelings at all to burning either. But they have their own things that work for them, that their soul remembers and responds to, such as working with specific crystals or deities. Find what works for you and use it!

Happy full wolf moon/eclipse day! The energies are around for about 3 days so set the intention, and do what feels right for you!

spirit animals & animal messengers

Steven Farmer, author and earth magic expert calls spirit animals or totem animals often power animals.

What is a Power Animal?

Power animals are spirit guides in animal form, valuable allies who can help you navigate through life’s challenges and transitions. You can turn to these perceptive and trustworthy oracles for advice and counsel on any questions or concerns, for they’re exceptional teachers who will help you learn about both the spirit and the natural world. Working with them on a regular basis will enhance your personal life and expand your spiritual capacities immensely.

Power animals can appear in meditations, visions, dreams, shamanic journeys, or on the earth in their physical form. They can be mammals, birds, or reptiles; and even so-called mythical creatures such as unicorns or dragons can be power animals, although they have no physical representations in the material world. However, since spirit animals’ power is drawn from their instinctual and wild nature, it’s uncommon for purely domesticated animals such as pets to be part of this group.

The source of power for your animal spirit guide won’t just be a single animal, but the entire species. For instance, if your power animal is Bear, it won’t be just one particular bear, but an animal spirit guide that’s representative of the entire species of bears. Consequently, you’ll probably develop a greater appreciation for all bears, and likely extend that care and respect to the animal kingdom as a whole. If Dolphin is your power animal, for example, your love and appreciation will likely go out to all creatures of the sea and naturally expand to include those of the land and the air. Your animal will also teach you to use this power compassionately, to heal and empower yourself and others.

The good news is that we can recover our power animal or even discover a new one by opening our hearts, minds, and souls to this notion, Your power animal may come to you in meditations, visions, dreams, or shamanic journeys. If you’ve had a particular affinity or attraction for an animal, it’s most likely this is your power animal. Just recently someone wrote and asked what I thought her power animal was. She went on to describe how hawks have shown up for her much of her life, especially in the past few weeks, and was wondering if this could perhaps be her power animal. I wrote back and basically confirmed what she already knew, that Hawk was her main animal spirit guide, or power animal.

Your power animal may leave you at some point, even if you’ve paid attention to her over the years. Usually that means that the relationship has served its purpose, and another power animal either is or will be coming into your life. I’ve observed how these spirit guides will enter into our lives at a time when we most need their particular expression of spiritual power. For instance, if you’re moving into a position of leadership, Cougar spirit may very well leap into your life as power animal, helping you with confidence and clarity in your leadership roles. If you’re going through a major transformative process with big changes, you may find Snake spirit or Butterfly coming into your life as a power animal.

Another interesting facet is that often your power animal is reflective of your personality characteristics. For instance, Rachel is slight of build, energetic, with a tendency to move very quickly, often juggling several tasks at once, flitting from one to the other. It’s no accident that her power animal turned out to be Hummingbird. Gary is a fairly large man, gentle by nature, yet very capable of standing up for himself or for others as needed. No one messes with him. No surprise that his power animal is Bear.

Other questions that come up are about cats or dogs being power animals. Generally domesticated animals can’t be power animals because they’ve lost much of their wildness and are removed from the natural world. Likewise, some traditions believe that insects are to be excluded from being power animals because of their size and nature. Generally true, however in my book Power Animals, Dragonfly and Butterfly both argued vehemently about being included, so I caved and included them. I see now the wisdom of that, as they both offer unique types of power.

Yet another question that comes up on occasion is about mythological or etheric animals, such as dragons or unicorns. Although some would insist that they exist in third dimensional reality, it really doesn’t matter whether they do or not. If you believe they do, then they do. Any of these so-called mythological animals can certainly be your power animal. The only disadvantage is that they’re not commonly seen in the physical world as are other kinds of animals.

This is a highly personal and specialized relationship with an animal spirit guide. It’s not one you choose in the usual sense of the word. It’s more of a soul-to-soul connection, your soul bonding with the soul—or more accurately the oversoul—of the animal. The relationship is one to be nurtured and attended to on a regular basis, and if done, will last a number of years.

(excerpts taken from Power Animals: How to Connect with Your Animal Spirit Guides)

I personally believe that insects can absolutely be messengers. There is also a slight difference that I would like to point out between a spirit/power animal and an animal messenger. An animal messenger is simply an archetypal manifestation of source energy with a message pertaining to your situation in that very moment. Much like numerology appearing in your life (11:11, 444, etc.) an animal might have a certain meaning attached to it and appear in your life with a message during a certain time or in a certain situation. Whereas power animals are the same as spirit guides who guide us for a long time, if not our entire incarnation.

I have had the messenger of ladybug show up for me this week, and it was undeniable because it came at a time where I had lots of questions and some fears coming up. 2 days ago my daughter found a dead ladybug in the couch.. I immediately thought “what is the message behind this?” however, I dismissed it as just some weird thing that happened and went on with my day. And then within 24 hours I saw another, this time alive ladybug crawling on the wall at a client’s house in the bathroom. This wouldn’t be so strange were it not – 2 degrees Celsius outside and December. Then later that afternoon when I got home my gaze was drawn to a pin on the wall holding up the Christmas cards, that had a ladybug on it. Something I had not noticed before.

So whenever an animal is showing itself frequently. Or whenever you see an animal in an odd context or behaving unusual. It could very well be a spirit animal or a messenger!

Be like trees.

In my facebook group circle of fae alchemy  I write a weekly tree message, usually I keep the group separate from the rest of this page, but today on the shortest day of the year and the full moon, an event that very rarely happens at the same time, I wanted to share this message from this beautiful pine tree that’s outside where I work.

PicsArt_09-12-08.22.22

Today we celebrate rebirth. Winter holidays are in origin about rebirth. Christianity adopted the birth part but in essence it’s about the rebirth of the sun and the days getting longer again after the 21st. The trees are old. Some of them several hundreds of years old. They’ve been around for many of these yearly cycles and they stand tall through it all and remain the same but allow themselves to grow and be reborn in a way continuously. They follow the flow of life that goes through their branches and leaves and flow with the changes of life. We need to be like trees. Trees also form a network of love. They pick up on trees within their “network” that need energy or are in distress and they send love energy to them. Without ever being without energy themselves. They channel it from the earth and have a never ending source of it. Be like trees send out love to those around you this holiday season. But always remain steadfast and stable and connected to your own energy source of pure love energy. Give yourself and from what you have left, give those around you. Flow with the ever changing energy stream of life while standing tall. Be like trees.

Dragon meditation

Dragons, for many people a creature from mythology and old medieval tales. But once very present on the physical plane in ancient times of Atlantis and Avalon, when beings like dragons and unicorns and humans all vibrated at the same frequency and the veil was thin. Humans and dragons cooperated and joined forces in fortifying the leylines of this planet. Another name for leylines is dragon-lines by the way…

DfzhprqWkAESw4-

Dragons are still very much present and can be felt at energetic vortexes and energy points such as the mountains, Glastonbury in England. I first felt dragon energy when trying to connect to the land in Arizona, the Superstition Mountains there carry a strong vibration and before I knew it I was overcome with a very strong, yet calm energy, an energy that felt like some sort of nature-guardian, very ancient and connected to the mountains. It was dragon energy. Work with this dragon energy to gain confidence and strength. Try out this great meditation below and also check out more of the great Diana Cooper! She has some amazing books and meditations!

Laziness or self love?

Conditioning is a very cultural thing. It’s also a very egoic thing. What may seem like completely normal behavior in one culture, might seem totally inappropriate in another. In tribal communities, people live in the moment, from day to day, in the now. They just..live.. they take their time, for there is only that one moment where the focus lies. They enjoy it, they don’t rush their activities, they just..live.. They are happy.

contrast…

Then there is Western Europe and the United States where people are very future oriented, achievement focused. The now is non-existent and there is a rush to get to later.. to achieve that thing you want so much.. happiness, you’ll get it sometime tomorrow, next week, next month.. if only you had this or that or this you’d be happy. So the experience of living in the now, is totally nonexistent.

Abraham-hicks phrases it brilliantly:

abraham-hicks-quotes32

Taking your time for something, to be in the moment. Is something that I myself had trouble understanding for a long time, and sometimes still find myself in the process of perfecting. Seeking enjoyment in the activity that’s happening in the now-moment can bring you the happiness you seek in the future because there is only the now basically. Hence the title, what might seem like laziness to one person, is actually the highest form of self love to another, and vice versa!
